Responsible Sourcing & the EU Green Deal

The strategies outlined solidify our dedication to fostering a sustainable, resilient, and ethical supply chain, aligning our operations with the overarching goals of the European Green Deal.

Shaping a Sustainable Future.

The European Union is actively working to reduce its dependence on critical raw materials from outside the EU, a factor that impedes progress towards the net-zero goal outlined in the European Green Deal. To mitigate this, efforts are being channeled to diversify supply chains, increase domestic sourcing, and establish resilient value chains.

Strengthening Domestic Supply Chains.

Europe currently produces a small percentage of its necessary raw materials. This is set to change. We are spearheading initiatives that focus on a circular economy approach. Through improvements in recycling, substitution, and exploration, we aim to accelerate the growth of the sector and facilitate a swift transition to domestic mining operations. Ensuring Responsible Sourcing.

In compliance with the EU’s new regulations, we are adopting responsible sourcing practices to foster sustainable corporate governance. These practices mandate transparency in mineral production chains and concerted efforts to eliminate human rights violations and the correlation between resource exploitation and conflicts.

Aligning with the EU Green Deal.

The EU Green Deal is not just a plan but a commitment to a sustainable economic shift. It targets a minimum 55% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 1990 levels and aspires for climate neutrality by 2050. To further this, a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism is proposed to calibrate the pricing of imports based on their carbon footprint, promoting the use of raw materials from Ireland.
